The presidential election is just days away now, and I for one am tired of all the talk. Let’s do this thing and get it over with. I spent about an hour in the food court at the outlet mall at Foley, AL, on Friday sitting with Dianna’s dad who really didn’t want to shop and that is why we parked there in the food court. The big TV on the wall was tuned to CNN. Now I am interested in politics, I am patriotic, I do care about my country and what happens in this election, especially this election, but after watching Wolf Blitzer for an hour I wanted to shoot myself in the foot. Well a lot has been going on in the financial world to say the least, and I will also say that I don=t really understand any of it. I do know that gasoline is under three dollars a gallon for the first time in a while, and I do have a sneaking suspicion that somebody somewhere who is already very rich will get filthy stinking rich before this is all over. Blue Laws Blues
As a Baptist growing up in Arkansas, we had a very definite set of rules concerning what you could and couldn’t do on Sunday, because after all we are commanded to keep the Sabbath holy, as it says in the ten commandments which is our text today. Never mind that the Sabbath is really Saturday and we are really not Jews who are bound to the 10 Commandments, none of that seemed to matter.
